Kim Loddo


MA (Cantab) Dip Arch Mphil ARB RIBA - Director

Kim joined IBLa at its inception in 2000, and became a director in 2006. She is responsible for the detailed design, implementation and coordination of projects, as well as the internal organisation of the office. She has previously worked for van Heyningen and Haward Architects, M. Sanguinetti Architects, and U.N.E.S.C.O., as part of an Aga Khan sponsored international research team which surveyed the Fez Medina. Kim gained her Diploma from Cambridge University in 1999, having also studied at Harvard and MIT, and completed an MPhil degree in History and Philosophy of Architecture in 2000. She has won numerous awards, including the Leslie Martin Prize for Architecture, the Rudecino Mannia prize for Art, and the Scullard Fund Research Award. She has also taught a Design Studio at Cambridge University Department of Architecture from 2000-2004 with fellow director Jamal Badrashi, and has been a visiting critic for a number of institutions including the University of Greenwich, Thames Valley University, MIT, Rhode Island School of Art and Design, and Savannah School of Art, USA. Kim is a member of the RIBA Validation Panel, the body responsible for validation of UK architectural education courses, and an External Examiner at Birmingham City University.
